Emirates has added a second dedicated live sports channel to its Ice
IFE system available on over 90 B777 aircraft (with selected A380
aircraft to follow from this month).
Sports 24 Extra complements the existing Sports 24 channel, and will
enable the carrier to show more live sports events this summer,
including:
- Rio 2016 Olympics
- Euro 2016 football championships
- Formula 1
- Wimbledon and US Open tennis
- Moto GP
Ice TV Live also offers news coverage from channels including CNN,
BBC World News, Sky News, Euro News, CNBC, Al Jazeera and NHK World.
The offering is currently available on over 90 B777 aircraft, which represents over one third of the carrier’s fleet.
This month Emirates will take delivery of its 80th A380, the first of its superjumbos to feature the Ice Live TV system.
