Warri airport owing N566.4m, NAMA insist

The resumption of flights at Osubi Airport in Warri, Delta State notwithstanding, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) yesterday insisted that the operator owing N566.4 million.
Though it confirmed a receipt of N31 million recently from Shoreline Oil Services, the agency, through its General Manager, Public Affairs, Khalid Emele, added that the payment was from an alleged N600 million indebtedness.

Ethiopian Airlines (ET) has won the Aviation 100’s African Lease Deal of the Year award at the Airline Economics Growth Frontiers 2018 conference recently held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. ET won the award based on a deal with Japanese financing system, JOLCO, which financed the airlines’ A350 aircraft.

The experts, who spoke at the quarterly breakfast meeting of the Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) in Lagos, observed that while over 40 airlines had already collapsed in the last 17 years, some of the surviving seven local firms and the proposed Nigeria Air were not immune to the same problem.
