As part of effort to make the aviation a customer friendly industry, the Federal Ministry of Aviation on Monday launched the Aviation Passengers Service portal.
Designed as a single online platform for
the flying public to access real time information about airlines
operations and services at any airport in Nigeria.
The APS portal is said to be a reliable
source for verified information purposely designed to empower the
passengers traveling by air from within and outside Nigeria with
accurate data with which they can make informed decision and plan their
journey.
The new service, which was officially
unveiled at the Trancorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, is also expected to serve
passengers at the point of planning trips and after trips.
The portal has flight search
functionality that allows users to search for flight on any route of
their choice within the country.
Okay guys, we have checked the portal
and we think this is a very great move the Ministry. You can actually
flight schedule on all domestic airline operating in Nigeria in just one
place and then you can complete your booking by clicking on the airline
of choice.
Checking for flight schedule
To compare one or more airlines, select
the ‘flights performance tab’ indicate the route by selecting ‘where are
you flying from’ and ‘where are you flying to’ tabs, select ‘all
airlines’ and the day of the week you wish to compare. Click on ‘show
performance’. All airlines are displayed; select the airline(s)/flight
time you wish to compare.
Also, there is something called Flight
performance. The flight performance analysis is a platform that provides
reliable information on the historical performance of airlines in
Nigeria. Analysis is based on the following criteria; ‘on time’,
‘delayed’ and ‘cancelled’.
Filing passengers’ complaints
Another commendable thing is the option
called “Speak Up” where passengers can file a complaint on whatever it
is an airline did to you. Simply click on the ‘speak up’ tab, type in
your phone number, an sms with a verification code will be sent to the
phone number provided. Type in the verification code received and fill
in other required details then click on submit. But at least know your rights as a passenger before filing a complaint.
There is also a forum section which
we find very interesting too, we will be signing up and dropping some
comments there so lets go guys
