Officials and players of the Flying Eagles landed in Germany Sunday morning after a six-hour flight from Abuja the previous night.

The African champions made up of 26 players and 10 officials touched down at the Frankfurt Airport by 6am local time, which is an hour ahead of Nigerian time.

Fleeing US based Nigerian nurse arrested over death of toddler

A Nigerian-born nurse practitioner from Queens, New York, has been charged in the killing of a developmentally disabled toddler who was submerged in hot bath water.

Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says 54-year-old Oluyemisi Adebayo was arrested at the John F. Kennedy Airport Wednesday just as she was about to board a flight to Nigeria, via London.

Authorities say Adebayo was taking care of 23-month-old Naomi Mondesire on April 21 when she prepared her for a bath.

The nurse allegedly told detectives she tested the water with her own hand before placing Naomi in the tub. But she noticed pieces of skin peeling off Naomi’s legs when she took her out.
